restart syslog daemon on Mac OS X
sudo vim /etc/syslog.conf
add
cron.* /var/log/cron.log
sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.syslogd.plist
sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.syslogd.plist
This will enable logging for cronjobs.
